The two songwriters, though English, wrote this song that became an English marching song for the home of their ancestral grandparents. The top of the sheet music notes: This Song may be Sung in Public without fee or license Except at Theatres & Music Halls.” This music is called “The Marching Anthem on the Battlefields of Europe. One of the main lines of the song is, “For the long, long road to Tipperary is the road that leads me home.”
